With our supporters’ base growing we have had a number of schools, companies and individuals asking about fundraising opportunities for MK Food Bank, which got us thinking.
MK Food Bank is not just about food donations, we support local communities and charities as well as vulnerable families with 400+ food parcels distributed weekly, and more recently helping refugees in the area.
The cost-of-living crisis has not only had an effect on the number of people we help, but it has also meant that food donations have decreased – meaning we are having to spend more and more on buying food.
So, as well as lots and lots of food donations, we also need money – premises, vehicle, staff and equipment costs, food that we must buy, all adds up to us needing around £500 per day to keep MK Food Bank running.
MK Food Bank is looking for fundraisers and champions in Milton Keynes who would like to make a real difference in their local community.

With the school holidays fast approaching keeping kids busy is always a challenge and can be expensive.
We have the goals to get the children active and positive this summer!

- We’ve included some fun indoor/outdoor activities for families and friends, we have Fundraising packs for children (and parents) with set goals to achieve with sport, garden activities, cooking and baking! And you can fundraise for MK Food Bank at the same time.
- Spend some quality time together in the kitchen with our easy-to-use free Family Recipe downloads, using cheaper food items to make fantastic meals for the whole family that you can use again and again.
- There’s plenty of green spaces around Milton Keynes via The Parks Trust to enjoy some fresh air, get active and play with friends!
- There’s lots going on in Milton Keynes, check out local free events that you and family can enjoy, many also include food. Milton Keynes Council have a range of free events and activities for families over the holidays.
- Milton Keynes Play Association are running their summer play sessions which are free of charge held in various location around the area.
