About us
Here's a little bit about us...
Established in 2004, MK Food Bank originated at MK Christian Centre in Oldbrook as a direct response to growing food poverty in the area. Now supporting more than 5,000 families a year, we operate from our distribution centre in Milton Keynes MK1 1DX and distribute from 10 serving centres across Milton Keynes.
People call or are referred to us for a variety of reasons, with family crisis, loss of employment or benefits and debt problems all common. Sometimes people coming out of hospital or prison need immediate practical support, as do those placed in emergency accommodation. Whatever circumstances leave families struggling to keep a roof over their heads, MK Food Bank can provide short term, crisis food support. By working closely with local social care and health agencies we also ensure people are receiving help with their underlying issues.
MK Food Bank supports people in crisis across Milton Keynes with food, care and understanding. We welcome everyone with kindness and respect, offering both immediate help and the chance to regain stability. Working alongside our community, we make sure people feel seen, heard and supported and can find their feet again, one step at a time.’
‘We work with our community to make sure everyone has enough food and the support to move forward. Through emergency help, practical guidance and a warm, respectful welcome, MK Food Bank helps people rebuild confidence, regain stability and believe in better days ahead.
