Need help?

Step 1: Getting a voucher number

If you are struggling financially and need urgent help with food, you will need  a Food Bank voucher number in order to access a food parcel for yourself and members of your family. You can be issued with up to 6 Food Bank vouchers within a rolling 12 month period.

There are two ways to get a voucher number.

Agency referral: If you are being supported by one of our referral agencies, for example a social worker, doctor or other healthcare professional, or a support organisation like the Citizens Advice Bureau –  they may offer to issue you a voucher number or you can ask them for one.

Self-referral: You can call the Food Bank Helpline on 0300 303 4933 or text HELP 07874 964505 to discuss your situation in confidence with experienced staff. We will ask you some questions about your circumstances and can issue you with a voucher number.

The Helpline is open from 9:00 – 15:00, Monday – Friday.  Outside of these times, please text the number above and we will return your call as soon as we can.

Your voucher number is 6 digits long (eg 217857) Please write this down and keep it somewhere safe as you will need it to collect your food.

Step 2: Collecting your food

There are 11 different centres across Milton Keynes where you can collect your food. Your voucher number can be exchanged for food at any of them. Please see the list below and check opening hours carefully as not all of them are open every day.

You will need to bring ID to the Collection Centre for yourself and  every family member.

If you are unable to collect the food yourself you can ask a friend, family member or neighbour to collect on your behalf.  They will need to bring your voucher number and your ID.
